§ 14.2-4. Penalties.

(a)

There is hereby imposed a civil penalty of not more than twenty-five dollars for violation of any provisions of this chapter.

(b)

No person shall smoke in a designated no-smoking area and any person who continues to smoke in such area after being asked to refrain from smoking may be subject to a civil penalty of not more than twenty-five dollars.

(c)

Any law enforcement officer may issue a summons regarding the violation of this chapter.

(d)

Any civil penalties assessed under this section shall be paid into the treasury of Isle of Wight County, Virginia and shall be expended solely for public health purposes. (2-22-96; 5-27-10, § 4; Ord. No. 2010-8-C, 5-27-10.)
